Bhondla Celebration

Mahashtriya Mandal always takes great pride in preserving our rich culture and keeping vibrant traditions alive. This year, our school celebrated Bhondla, a traditional festival of Maharashtra, with great enthusiasm.

Bhondla is a beautiful ritual performed to express gratitude towards nature for a bountiful harvest and the prosperity brought by the monsoon rains. It also marks the transition of seasons as the rainy period comes to an end.

Event Highlights:

Traditional Attire: Students arrived at school dressed in beautiful traditional attire, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The Ritual: Students and teachers gathered on the school grounds to walk and dance around a beautifully decorated elephant idol placed at the centre. This idol symbolizes prosperity and the essential elements of nature.

The celebration was filled with joy as everyone sang traditional songs while moving in a circle around the idol.

The event concluded with the distribution of a traditional treat known as Khirapat. In a fun twist, students were challenged to guess the snack of the day. This year, everyone enjoyed a delicious serving of Dahi Pohe, lovingly arranged by the students and staff.

It was a memorable day that successfully connected our young learners with their cultural roots.
