International Yoga Day is observed globally every year on June 21st to raise awareness about this ancient practice. Our school celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with great zeal and enthusiasm, recognizing yoga not just as a physical exercise, but as a spiritual process that brings progress and balance to the world. Yoga plays a vital role in relaxing the mind and body while boosting the immune system.
Pre-Primary Celebrations
The celebrations began early on June 20th, 2025, with our youngest learners. The pre-primary section gathered in the badminton hall, where they were guided by our respected teachers through various standing and sitting Yoga asanas. The session focused on explaining the importance of yoga and sharing a beautiful message about how it helps us stay healthy, calm, and happy. It was a wonderful introduction to the lifelong benefits of Yoga for our little ones.
Primary and Secondary Section Highlights
On June 21st, students from Standards 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th participated in a grand event on the school campus. The program commenced with a brief introduction to yoga and a soulful Yogic prayer in Sanskrit. This was followed by an insightful speech regarding the origin and significance of Yoga.
Under the expert guidance of our Yoga teacher,
Mr. Tejas Desurkar Sir , students demonstrated a variety of asanas with precision:
Standing Asanas: Tadasan, Vrikshasan, and Ardha Chakrasan.
Sitting Asanas: Ardha Ushtrasan and Vakrasan.
The event echoed the inspiring words of Bob Harper: “Yoga is the fountain of youth. You are only as young as your spine is flexible.” The school believes that true education encompasses all-round development rather than mere importation of knowledge. The program concluded with a peaceful meditation session and an oath-taking ceremony, where students pledged to make yoga a part of their daily lives.
