Independence Day Celebration

Independence Day Celebration 2026-27

Theme: Celebrating Freedom, Inspiring Futures

Maharashtriya Mandal’s English Medium School celebrated the 80th Independence Day on 15th August 2026 with great patriotic spirit and fervour.

The programme began with a solemn prayer, followed by flag hoisting by our Principal, Mrs. Nidhi Samant Ma’am. The celebration included the National Anthem, an impressive March Past, the Pledge, and the reading of the Preamble, which further strengthened the sense of national pride and responsibility among all present. The programme was gracefully anchored by Mrs. Priyanka Patil.

Highlights of the Celebration:

The youngest stars of the school stole hearts as our Pre-Primary students transformed into India’s treasured national symbols – Mango, Tiger, Ganges River Dolphin, Ashoka Chakra, River Ganga, and more. Their innocent voices and confident presentations beautifully showcased the richness of our heritage. The pre-primary children also participated in creative tricolour activities including handprints, finger painting, stamping and craft work.

The Primary section added to the patriotic spirit, with students from Equality House presenting a soulful patriotic song that filled the atmosphere with pride.

The High School presentation offered a powerful journey beyond borders. Through an impressive portrayal of Sojourner Truth, an African-American abolitionist and women’s rights activist, Shravani Mahajan – winner of the Inter-School Marcus Cato Interschool Elocution Competition – brought to life the story of a woman whose courage challenged injustice and inspired generations.

The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks, followed by refreshments for all students.

More than a programme, it was a vibrant reminder that true freedom lives in knowledge, courage, unity, and the voices that dare to make a difference.
